After riding a season-high scoring effort by Sabrina Ionescu to a double-digit win over the Los Angeles Sparks on Thursday night, the New York Liberty will look to dispatch the Sparks again this afternoon in the front end of a back-to-back (3:00 pm ET, ESPN).
Led by 31 points and nine assists by Ionescu and 22 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds by Jonquel Jones, the Liberty (13-3) took down the Sparks (4-12) 93-80 on Thursday night at Barclays Center.
After facing the Sparks for the second time in three days, the Liberty have a quick turnaround to their next game, which will be tomorrow afternoon at Atlanta (3:00 pm ET, ESPN3). Fortunately, they will get the opportunity to rest a bit after having four games in six days, as their next game after that will not be until June 30, when the Dream make the trip to Brooklyn for a Sunday afternoon showdown.
While the Liberty will be seeking their 10th win in 11 games, the Sparks will be aiming to snap a five-game losing skid. They haven’t won since upsetting the Las Vegas Aces 96-92 almost two weeks ago and have lost seven straight road games since picking up their lone road win of the season.

Los Angeles Sparks vs New York Liberty Betting Analysis
To date, the Sparks’ only road win is an 88-82 victory over the Indiana Fever on May 28.
While they have struggled for success on the road and in general, blowout losses have not been a frequent occurrence for Los Angeles. Of their 12 losses this season, only three have been by 15 or more points, an 87-68 loss at Phoenix on June 2, an 86-62 home loss to Minnesota on June 5, and a 95-79 loss at Seattle on June 11.
So, there’s every possibility that they could cover the spread in their rematch with the Liberty, especially if Dearica Hamby is able to get back on track.
Hamby, who is averaging 17.7 PPG, 10.8 RPG, and 3.4 APG this season, has scored ten, eight, and nine points in her last three games. In each of her first 13 games this season, she scored at least 16 points. And after shooting 54.1% in her first 13 games, she is only 10 of 32 (31.3%) in her last three games.
Is she coming back down to earth after playing the best ball of her career over the first month of the season? It’s possible, but I think we’ll see her break out of her brief slump this afternoon. If she does, I like the Sparks to cover this sizable spread.
