Yankees vs Rays MLB Predictions, Odds & Best Bets (7/10)

Today’s Yankees vs. Rays MLB predictions and best bets are brought to you by BetOnline. BetOnline is a market leader in sports betting, offering various options from MLB odds to the NBA and everything in between.

Wednesday’s MLB schedule will see the New York Yankees (55-38) and Tampa Bay Rays (45-46) collide for the second encounter of their three-game series at 6:50 p.m. ET.

The series started off strong for the Rays as they secured a 5-3 victory against the Yankees on Tuesday. Tampa Bay’s successful start was largely due to a dynamic first inning, which included a three-run homer from Isaac Paredes. This performance was enough to deliver another defeat to the struggling New York team.

Is it possible for New York to recover after their loss yesterday? Alternatively, will Tampa Bay manage to secure the series with another win?

As we delve into my predictions and picks for the Yankees vs. Rays game, let’s also address those questions and check out some of the best MLB bets today.

Yankees vs Rays MLB Betting Trends

  • In their last seven games, the Yankees have a straight up record of 1-6.
  • In its last six home games against the Yankees, Tampa Bay has a straight up record of 4-2.
  • The Over was hit in eight of the last nine road games of the Yankees.
  • In 13 out of Tampa Bay’s last 20 games played in July, the total score was under the predicted amount.

Yankees vs Rays Predictions & MLB Picks Today (7/10)

Tonight’s game is the eighth face-off in the 2024 season series between the Yankees and the Rays. Following Tuesday’s game, the Yankees’ series lead has decreased to 4-3, with six more games remaining.

Despite the Yankees holding a marginal advantage over the Rays this year, recent performances have made it difficult to maintain confidence in them. After commencing the season with a 50-22 record, New York has lost 16 out of its last 21 games, including six out of the most recent seven. The team also underwent five separate periods of consecutive losses during this time.

One of the major problems facing the Yankees is the lack of production from their hitters. From June 15, the Yankees have had a poor performance of .223/.315/.379 in comparison to their season average of .248/.329/.426. They have also ranked 14th in terms of the least runs scored during this period and have managed three or less runs in seven out of their last 12 games.

The Yankees’ bats must be more consistent if they hope to beat the Rays today.

The future will reveal whether the Rays’ victory yesterday was a mere stroke of luck or not. They recently suffered a sweeping defeat at the hands of the Texas Rangers, with a cumulative score of 20-5. However, these losses occurred away from their home base. Now, the Rays are back at Tropicana Field where their record stands strong at 6-2 SU in their last eight home games.

Furthermore, Tampa Bay has a strong record of 4-2 in their last six home games against the Yankees. It’s also important to mention that New York has lost seven out of its last 10 games against another AL East team.

The Yankees would be relieved if Right-Handed Pitcher (RHP) Marcus Stroman could overcome his recent difficulties. The seasoned right-handed pitcher has been struggling significantly of late. In his past four games, Stroman has recorded a 6.43 ERA due to conceding 15 earned runs from 20 hits and 11 walks over the course of 21 innings.

Simultaneously, it will be intriguing to observe which form of Zach Eflin shows up. The Rays RHP has an impressive record of 3-0 with a 1.15 ERA in his previous five away games. However, Eflin also gave up five earned runs on seven hits in a span of five innings during his most recent game on Independence Day.

Rays RHP Zach Eflin has been electric at Tropicana Field. Will that trend continue tonight?

In a game that could go either way, I’ll stick with the Rays tonight. I just can’t bring myself to back the Yankees until they prove that they can put their current struggles in the rearview. Tampa Bay is perfect, but last night’s win was enough to convince me to side with the home team.

I also recommend backing the Over on the 8-run total. Of this season’s seven Yankees-Rays tilts thus far, five of those finished with at least eight total runs. The Overa is also 8-1 in New York’s last nine road games as well as 7-3 in its 10 previous AL East tilts.

Expect some fireworks today as the Over has hit in 54.4% of Tampa Bay’s home games (8th), indicating a favorable situation for MLB bettors.

Best Yankees vs Rays MLB Player Prop (7/10)

If you’re looking for a Yankees vs. Rays player prop, I suggest taking Yandy Diaz o1.5 total bases (+117).

Throughout the 2024 campaign, Diaz has been performing impressively. However, his performance becomes even more remarkable when he plays at Tropicana Field. In his most recent 13 home games, Diaz, who was the batting leader in 2023, has a slash line of .352/.375/.426, recording 19 hits, a double, and a home run. He accumulated a total of 23 bases during this period, averaging 1.8 per game, and surpassed this prop nine times.

If you’re still not convinced, consider that the Over has a 4-2 record in his last six matches against the Yankees. If Stroman continues to struggle on the mound, it puts Diaz in a favorable position to succeed on this prop once more.
