Kenyon Martin Jr. has moved one step closer to achieving his “lifelong dream.”
Kenyon Martin Sr.’s son, a former New Jersey Nets player, announced on Tuesday his decision to declare for the 2020 NBA Draft.
He disseminated the news through a post on Instagram.
“He wrote, ‘Despite the skepticism and disdain received throughout my journey, I believe I’ve made the right choices for myself. Now, I’m ready to take the next step by declaring for the 2020 NBA Draft. This has always been a lifelong dream of mine. I am committed to proving to myself and everyone else, day by day, that I truly belong here.'”

There was a lot of hate and doubt about my journey but I feel I’ve done what was best for me and now is the time to take the next step which is to Declare for the 2020 NBA Draft. Originally, Martin Jr. intended to play college basketball at Vanderbilt. However, he spent the previous year at IMG Academy, a post-graduate school in Bradenton, Florida. The 6-foot-7 wing previously played high school basketball at Sierra Canyon in Southern California.
Martin Sr., his father, was an NBA player for 15 seasons and was the No. 1 overall draft pick in 2000.
