WASHINGTON (AP) — John Wall will be held out of the Washington Wizards’ game Saturday at Chicago as coach Scott Brooks attempts to manage the All-Star guard’s minutes.
Brooks had said Wall would not play both halves of a back-to-back set. Wall was set to play Friday night at home against the NBA champion Cleveland Cavaliers.
Wall is coming off surgery on each knee.
Backcourt mate Bradley Beal missed the Cavaliers game because of a tight right hamstring. Wall left the Wizards’ 118-93 victory over the Boston Celtics on Wednesday with the injury.
Brooks said Beal was considered day to day and would be evaluated again Saturday to determine his status for the Bulls game.
Brooks said Marcus Thornton would start in Beal’s place against the Cavaliers.
