The Cincinnati Reds are currently battling the Colorado Rockies in a three-game series in Denver, high in the mountains. Unfortunately, both teams are at the bottom of their division, offering little for their fans to celebrate. The Reds, with a 26-33 record, are just one game away from 4th place and ten games away from the top position in the NL Central. The Rockies, on the other hand, are faring slightly worse.
Colorado trails Arizona by 5.5 games for the 4th position in the NL West, and they are 15.5 games behind the Dodgers for the top spot. Nonetheless, the season is far from over. There is ample time for these teams to make a comeback, beginning with tonight’s game!
Can the Rockies secure a win at home, where they have a 4/6 record in their last two series at Coors? Or will the Reds maintain their winning streak on their road trip?

Can Abbott Shutdown Rockies at Home?
Tonight in Colorado, Andrew Abbott will start for the Reds.
While I don’t entirely have faith in Andrew Abbott’s performance on the mound, I believe we can support him today. He’s coming out of a home start where he surrendered 6 runs on 7 hits to the Cardinals, two of which were home runs. Overall, it appears he pitches better when he’s away, which is reflected in his lower ERA on the road.
It’s well known that balls can really take flight at Coors, which I believe will benefit these Reds hitters. I won’t attempt to convince you that the Reds are a strong hitting team because, honestly, they’re not. Yet, I am entirely comfortable with overlooking Ryan Feltner in this situation.
We’ve disregarded him previously, and it has benefited us, so why not resort to him again?
Feltner has conceded more than two runs in 9 out of his 11 starts and has given up a home run in six of those games. However, he has only allowed two home runs in Coors this year, both of which occurred in his last game against the Guardians on Tuesday. Despite coming off his best performance of the year, Feltner struggled against the Guardians. Even though the Reds’ offense isn’t as strong, I believe Cincinnati will still prove to be a challenging opponent for him.
I have no issue with fading Feltner, and I’ll be supporting the Reds with a fantastic line.

It’s rare to see me regularly supporting the Reds, but there’s a right time and place for everything.
This year, the Rockies are underperforming in baseball. Even with their home-field advantage, I have faith in the Reds to kick off this series with a win on the road. I’d advise against supporting Ryan Feltner, particularly at Coors, and instead back Cincinnati to secure the victory.
