RELEASE: Oilers issue statement regarding Holloway & Broberg
Edmonton declares that they will not match the offer sheets presented by St. Louis for the forward and defenceman.
EDMONTON, AB – The Edmonton Oilers announced this morning they will not match contract offer sheets presented by the St. Louis Blues to forward Dylan Holloway and defenceman Philip Broberg.
According to the NHL compensation rules, the Oilers will get the Blues’ second and third-round picks in the 2025 NHL Draft.
The Oilers have secured a deal with St. Louis, acquiring defenceman Paul Fischer and the Blues’ third-round pick in the 2028 NHL Draft. In return, they have offered future considerations. This is a separate transaction.
Fischer, an unsigned pick from the 2023 NHL Draft (138th overall), is entering his second season with Notre Dame (NCAA).
