Top 5 all-time Orlando Magic scoring leaders

No one has scored more points as an Orlando Magic than Dwight Howard.

The Magic have been around since 1989 and have had some great players don their iconic pinstripe uniforms through the years. The most accomplished player during their time in Orlando was Dwight Howard, who holds franchise records for several statistical categories, including the team’s all-time leading scorer.

1. Dwight Howard – 11,435 Points

The No.1 overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft certainly delivered on his potential while with the Magic. Drafted out of high school, Howard took some time to develop into a dominant force but once he did, he was as tough to stop as any big man in the league. Howard exploded in his fourth season when he bumped his scoring average to 20.7 points per game while also leading the league in rebounds (14.2). He finished in the top five in MVP voting four times with the Magic and was also a three-time Defensive Player of the Year. All four of Howard’s career 40-point games came while as a member of the Magic.

2. Nick Anderson – 10,650 Points

Anderson was one of the formative players for the Magic during their nascent stages. Beginning his career in 1989, Anderson spent 10 seasons in Orlando and played in 692 games for the Magic, making him the franchise’s all-time leader in games played. Anderson consistently averaged over 15 points per game during his tenure and had 19.9 points per game in two seasons.

3. Nikola Vučević  – 10,432 Points

Vooch played an integral role in ushering the Magic’s next era after Dwight Howard’s departure. A double-double machine, Vučević had 324 such games with the Magic from 2012 to 2020. Vooch was only named to an All-Star team twice during his tenure with Orlando but his statistics were impressive nonetheless. Vucevic worked hard to improve his free-throw shooting which helped boost his scoring output. He shot just 66.9% from the line in 2017 and never shot under 78% in his following seasons there.

4. Tracy McGrady – 8,298 Points

T-Mac’s impact on the Magic organization is hard to quantify. He was one of the most electrifying players in franchise history despite only spending four years with the team. He made the most of that time, though, as he was an All-Star in each of those seasons and a legitimate MVP candidate as well. McGrady took home two NBA scoring titles in back-to-back seasons (2003 and 2004). Though McGrady played in Houston for longer than he did in Orlando, the Magic were fortunate enough to have him at the peak of his powers.

5. Jameer Nelson – 8,184 Points

Nelson’s name is imprinted all across the Magic’s record books. He played the second-most games in a Magic uniform and is a franchise leader in assists. Nelson’s contributions as a scorer should not be underrated, though. Mighty Mouse averaged 12.6 points per game and 5.4 assists per game over 10 seasons in Orlando. Nelson was also a key part of Orlando’s 2008-09 team that made it to the NBA Finals.
