Only three games on the WNBA slate tonight, but the stars are out. Caitlin Clark and Cameron Brink go head to head for the second time in under a week. Chicago native Jewell Loyd is back in her hometown, taking on young star Angel Reese. That is only the tip of the iceberg.

Get ready for a thrilling night of WNBA action. Get the popcorn out. It is going to be a great night.

WNBA Best Bet: Los Angeles Sparks (+4.5) (-112)

So far, Cameron Brinks has been outstanding in her rookie season for Los Angeles.

Stank:

These two teams are meeting for the second time in less than a week. Their first encounter took place last Friday in Los Angeles, where the Fever were slightly favored despite being the visiting team. Just four days later, the Fever are now hosting the Sparks in Indianapolis and have been labeled as 6.5 point favorites. However, I am not convinced.

WNBA Top Performances: Week 2

Our 6 this week include:

Jewell Loyd
Arike Ogunbowale
Kayla McBride
Kahleah Copper
Alyssa Thomas
A’ja Wilson

The Sparks are on par with the Fever, if not better, and they pack some powerful punches. Nine-year veteran Dearica Hamby is in top form (her MVP is priced at 150/1). She’s been recording an impressive 20.6 points, 13.2 rebounds (ranking 1st) and 3.8 assists per game this season. Additionally, rookie star Cameron Brink is currently leading the league in blocked shots. With such strong players, the Sparks are a team to be seriously considered.

Meanwhile, the Fever has been steadily improving with each game as their young core continues to mature and advance. Nonetheless, even on their home turf, they shouldn’t be considered 6.5-point favorites against a comparable opponent.

Usually, I’m a statistics enthusiast who enjoys providing data to support my betting predictions, but tonight, it was mostly about intuition and instinct.

Roll Sparks.

WNBA Best Bet: Seattle Storm (-2.5) (-109)

Stank:

I attempted to downplay the Sky’s performance in their last game following their surprising 17-point victory over the New York Liberty, but this was challenged when Alyssa Thomas was ejected for aggressively handling Angel Reese. Even though the Sun emerged victorious, they didn’t meet expectations.

Dearica Hamby has made an impressive start in the interior for 2024.

Hamby is averaging 14.0 points in the paint, which is tied (w/Nneka Ogwumike and Natasha Howard) for most PITP per game in the W. #WNBATwitter pic.twitter.com/vz20LfNDfH

Today, I am siding with a team that’s been overlooked – the Seattle Storm. After adding experienced players like Nneka Ogwumike and Skylar Diggins-Smith to their roster, the Seattle Storm is shaping up to be quite a formidable team this season. These two veterans provide a lot of depth and experience to Seattle, which is going to be a major hurdle for the developing team of Chicago Sky. The Seattle Storm is definitely a team to watch out for this season.

Following consecutive defeats to the Lynx, Seattle has triumphed in three out of their last four games, defeating Washington twice and Indiana once. The Sky have managed to outscore their rivals by an average of 13.5 points per game. Despite the Sky’s impressive performance early in the season, including victories over Dallas and New York, they face a reality check tonight as they compete against a team abundant with seasoned players.

Tonight, the storm will sweep across the skies of Chicago.
