The Rangers secured a 2-1 lead in the series after a challenging 5-4 victory in the third game. The Panthers pushed the game into overtime with two third-period goals. However, New York clinched the win with Alex Wennberg’s first postseason goal, scored at 5:35 in the extra period.

Is it possible for New York to secure a 3-1 lead after tonight? Alternatively, could Florida balance the score before the series goes back to Madison Square Garden?

The showdown between the Rangers and Panthers tonight is brimming with NHL betting opportunities. Let’s delve into a few of these as we explore my Game 4 predictions and top bets.

Rangers vs Panthers NHL Game 4 Predictions & Pick (5/28)

The Rangers are officially under pressure as they have the chance to lead 3-1 in the Eastern Conference Finals tonight. They have the momentum following two consecutive wins, but one could argue that they could have easily been trailing 3-0 given that both victories were secured in overtime.

In spite of everything, the truth remains that the Rangers are leading and aim to maintain their recent success on the road. Peter Laviolette’s team, after all, has secured victories in 10 out of their previous 12 away games, outscoring their competition 51-36 overall. Not to mention, they have also boasted a formidable 36.7% power-play percentage during that period.

The Panthers have recently had success at home, with a 9-3 record in their last 12 games at Amerant Bank Arena. However, in their last four home games dating back to the previous round, Florida has lost three times.

Another disadvantage for the Panthers is their 3-6 straight up record in their last nine games against the Metropolitan Division.

The Panthers must figure out how to win at home if they want to avoid falling into a bigger series hole.

Despite some setbacks, the Panthers have had some positives in this series. Their performance on special teams has been commendable, with a 27.3% success rate on man advantage, converting 3 out of 11 opportunities, and successfully nullifying all eight of the Rangers’ power-play chances. Moreover, the Panthers have dominated the third period, outscoring the Rangers 4-0. If they can figure out how to start the game stronger, they might be able to take control of the series.

The Panthers would certainly benefit from a comeback performance by Sergei Bobrovsky. Despite the Russian goaltender letting in five goals from 23 shots in Game 3, it’s worth remembering that he successfully blocked 52 out of 54 attempts, a rate of 96.3%, in the initial two games.

Conversely, Igor Shesterkin has performed excellently for the Rangers, achieving a 2.13 goals-against average and a .922 save percentage to date.

And while Shesterkin could easily steal the show tonight, I’m taking the Panthers to even the series. Florida nearly won Games 2 and 3, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the host team evens things up tonight — especially if special teams continue to work in their favor. Don’t be surprised if this series goes the full seven games.

I’ll also be taking the Under on the 5.5-goal total. Although these teams combined for nine goals on Sunday, the first two encounters saw three goals apiece. I also see Bobrobsky and Shesterkin bouncing back after lackluster performances in Game 3, so try not to be shocked if there aren’t a ton of fireworks.

Lafrenière delivered an excellent performance in Game 3, breaking a four-game stretch without any points by scoring two goals. The ex-first overall pick has now accumulated 11 points in his previous nine away games, including scoring at least one point in four out of the last five games.

There’s a high probability that Lafrenière will score again tonight, having earned points in his last three consecutive visits to Amerant Bank Arena.
