Max Christie’s 22 points led the way for the Lakers en route to a 103-96 victory over the Warriors to open NBA 2K24 Summer League play in Las Vegas on Friday night.
Christie added seven rebounds, two assists and three 3-pointers to his final line in 31 minutes of action. Cole Swider pitched in 19 points and five 3s for Los Angeles, while rookie first-rounder Jalen Hood-Schifino added nine points, five rebounds, three assists, four steals and a block. As a team, the Lakers shot 43.8% from downtown, draining 14-of-32 attempts.
Golden State was paced by Gui Santos, who scored a game-high 25 points in 30 minutes. First-round pick Brandin Podziemski finished with nine points, 11 rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block in his Summer League debut. The Warriors also got 11 points, 11 rebounds and a block out of Reggie Perry off the bench.
Both teams will be back in action Sunday in Las Vegas. The Lakers will take on Brandon Miller and the Hornets, while the Warriors match up against the Pelicans.
