A second straight standout performance from Lester Quinones and an impressive all-around effort from first-round pick Brandin Podziemski helped propel the Golden State Warriors to a comfortable 98-83 victory over the Charlotte Hornets in the California Classic Summer League on Wednesday at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento.

The game was tightly contested during the first half, and the Warriors (1-1) emerged with a 48-40 lead. However, the tide turned for good during the third quarter, when Golden State outscored the Hornets (0-2) by a 29-15 margin. Golden State led by as much as 24.

Quinones paced the Warriors with 21 points. Gui Santos scored 18 points, while Podziemski added 17 points, four rebounds, five steals and a block. Kendric Davis matched Podziemski’s scoring and also produced five boards and four assists.

Second-round pick Amari Bailey led the Hornets with 17 points. Nick Smith, the 27th overall pick, followed with 14 points, five rebounds and four assists. Kai Jones delivered 12 points, four boards, four steals and two blocks. Bryce McGowens managed 10 points,
