What would turn into a marathon affair, started with the Mavericks consistently staying one step ahead of the Warriors with a 6-point lead going into halftime. However, Golden State began to chip away in the third to cut its deficit. This ultimately forced overtime with a clutch Kendric Davis three-pointer at the 9.9 second mark of the fourth quarter.
There were three ties in the extra period on the way to the 97-point target score before Key’s slam sealed the win.
The Warriors Lester Quinones led all scorers with 31 points, adding seven rebounds and five assists. Reggie Perry generated monster double-double with 20 points and 17 rebounds. Gui Santos totaled a double-double as well with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Davis finished an all-around game with 12 points, six assists, four rebounds and two steals.
Jaden Hardy paced the Mavericks with 21 points, complementing them with four rebounds and two blocks. Mike Miles Jr. finished with 19 points, four assists, two steals and one block. Prosper supplied 17 points, 10 boards and one steal. Dereck Lively II and Taze Moore produced matching 11-point efforts, with Lively recording 10 rebounds and two blocks.
The Warriors are back in action Thursday night against the Rockets, while the Mavericks tangle with the Pacers on Friday night.
